Loving Like Jesus in Everyday Moments
February: Week 4 - Formed by Love
As we come into this final week of February, it’s important to pause and acknowledge where we’ve already been. Last week invited us into the tender work of forgiveness and release — loosening our grip on what has weighed us down, and trusting God with what we could not fix or resolve on our own. That kind of love is not loud or dramatic. It is quiet, costly, and deeply freeing. And for many of us, it opened places in the heart that needed gentleness more than instruction.
Now, we arrive at this last movement of the month — not as a new demand, but as a natural next step. After receiving love, learning to love with wisdom, and practicing forgiveness and release, we’re invited to ask a simple but meaningful question: What does love look like when it’s lived out in ordinary, everyday moments?
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
— John 13:35 (NIV)
When we think about loving like Jesus, it’s easy to picture big gestures or heroic faith. But so much of Jesus’ love was lived quietly — in conversations, interruptions, shared meals, patient listening, and small acts of faithfulness. He loved people where they were, often in moments that seemed unremarkable to everyone else. That is so important to embrace and take into your heart.
