The Breastplate of Righteousness
January: Week 2 - Putting on the Full Armor of God
A Look Back Before We Move Forward
Last week, we began our journey with the Belt of Truth — placing God’s voice at the very center of our story. We practiced speaking His truth back to the lies that make us feel shaken or uncertain. And whether you felt an immediate shift or you simply took one small step forward — that matters. This isn’t about progress as the world measures it — it’s about presence, and opening your heart to God right where you are.
This week, we’re moving a little deeper — not just into what we know, but into what we believe about who we are. Because truth matters deeply…
But it’s also vital to let that truth travel downward — into those fragile places where guilt, shame, and accusation like to live. That’s where the Breastplate of Righteousness becomes our divine covering.
What Is the Breastplate of Righteousness? Why It Matters
To put on this breastplate isn’t just to wear armor — it’s to accept the grace we already have in Christ. It’s to allow His righteousness — not our effort — to guard the most vulnerable parts of who we are.
If truth secures us at the center, righteousness protects our heart.
“Stand firm then… with the breastplate of righteousness in place.”

The breastplate was never optional for a soldier. It was that essential covering that made the difference between surviving a blow — and being taken out by it.
Spiritually, this breastplate covers us from the inside out — not because we’ve “done enough” for God, but because Jesus already did.
This armor doesn’t say: I’m good enough. It says: I am covered by grace.
And I don’t know what your quiet thoughts have been lately — but I know many of us wrestle silently with things like:
